Restoring a Proven Training Aircraft

Flight Expo has launched the professional restoration of a donated Cessna 172, with all work being completed by Kruse Aviation. This aircraft is being restored to full, safe, airworthy condition so it can return to the skies as a dependable training platform for our Flying Club.

The Cessna 172 is one of the most trusted and widely flown aircraft in general aviation history. Known for its stability, forgiving handling, and excellent visibility, it has long been the aircraft of choice for flight training, proficiency flying, and recreational aviation. Its high-wing design and simple systems make it ideal for pilots at every stage—from first flight to lifelong proficiency.

For Flight Expo, adding a Cessna 172 to our Flying Club fleet directly supports safe, consistent, and affordable flight training. Many pilots learn in a 172—and return to it again and again throughout their aviation journey. Restoring this aircraft ensures students

and members have access to a familiar, confidence-building platform that reinforces good decision-making and strong fundamentals.

Once returned to service, the aircraft will increase access to reliable flight time while strengthening our training capacity and supporting the continued growth of pilots within our aviation community.
