John & Patty sandberg A&P scholarhip applicATION

Flight Expo is proud to offer the John & Patty Sandberg A&P Scholarship in honor of two individuals whose passion for aviation, innovation, and hands on craftsmanship continues to inspire the next generation.

John Sandberg was more than an aviation mechanic—he was a builder, an innovator, and a problem solver. From precision machining and engine rebuilding to restoring historic aircraft and developing high performance racing engines, he believed in doing the work the right way and passing those skills on to others. Patty stood alongside him, supporting both the vision and the people who made it possible.

This scholarship is designed to support individuals who are serious about pursuing a career in aviation maintenance and developing the technical skills required in the field.

Recipients will receive support toward Flight Expo’s NextGen Aviation Maintenance Program, powered by Choose Aerospace. This program delivers structured, workforce aligned training that prepares students for continued education through FAA approved pathways, including progression into a

Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School.

If you are ready to begin your journey in aviation maintenance or take the next step in your training, we encourage you to apply.

Application Deadline: April 3, 2026

Open to Ages 15-18

Eligibility: Open to individuals committed to pursuing aviation maintenance training

 Winners Announced: April 11, 2026

Making Dreams a Reality!

This is more than a scholarship—it is an investment in the next generation of skilled hands and dedicated professionals who will keep aviation moving forward.

We look forward to reviewing your application and supporting your path into aviation maintenance.

One wall, one wing, one dream at a time.
