Flight Expo is excited to welcome an OV-1C Mohawk to our aircraft preservation collection!
For years, the Mohawk stood as a primary display piece at the Blaine hangar. When the museum's main hangar at Anoka County-Blaine Airport was dissolved,
the Mohawk remained one of the final aircraft legally tied to the museum's historical assets (Aircraft Finder). Now, thanks to a generous donation made by the American Wings Air Museum, this remarkable aircraft has found a new home with Flight Expo, where we look forward to preserving its history and sharing its story with future generations.
A Little Bit About the OV-1C:
Built in 1969, this Grumman OV-1C Mohawk is a fixed-wing monoplane reconnaissance aircraft used by the military, with serial number 68-15936. After being declared military surplus, it was acquired by the American Wings Air Museum and registered under the civilian tail number N134AW (Aircraft Finder). https://airplane.museum/aircraft/26897
The Grumman OV-1 Mohawk is a battlefield surveillance airplane built for the United States Army. The OV-1C was the first version equipped with infrared sensors, allowing the U.S. Army to detect heat signatures, hidden enemy positions, and activity at night or in poor weather (Airspeed Junkie). https://airspeedjunkie.com/pages/about-us
